Puncak toga

Located in the Gunung Gadung area, Bukit Toga is one of
the favorite tourist destinations of young people in Sumedang. Its location which is close to downtown Sumedang, only about two kilometers from Alun-Alun sumedang, makes this place easily accessible. This area has cool air and tends to be cold.

From downtown Sumedang to Bukit Toga it can be reached in about 10 minutes by two-wheeled vehicles. But people who are interested in coming to this place must use their own vehicle, because there is no public transportation to this place.   The view on the Toga hill is quite spectacular. From the top of the hill you can clearly see Sumedang City. Starting from the center of the city of Sumedang which is covered in buildings to the outskirts of the city of Sumedang with wide rice fields. Can be seen the shape of the city of Sumedang surrounded by mountains with several hills in the middle of the city.   "The view is good, suitable for photographs. Sometimes I also use this hill for prewedding photos, because it feels romantic, "said Dudi, one of the visitors who also works as a wedding photographer.   According to Abah Ntat, a local resident, the Toga was built in 1999, and in 2001 the construction touched the peak, the Bukit Toga. The name Toga itself comes from the habits of the people around this area.

The toga is from the abbreviation for Family Medicinal Plants. Why is it called Toga? Because of that, residents here have a habit of growing medicinal plants in the yard of the house. From there the name Toga was taken. But now it is rare for residents to grow medicinal plants at home, "explained Abah Ntat.   Usually, according to Abah Ntat, Bukit Toga is crowded on Saturdays and Saturdays. Therefore, if on a weekday the Toga is opened until nine o'clock at night, then on the Saturday night the Toga is open until 11 at night.   "Mostly used to date, so if on Saturday nights I like to go around, so no one does anything weird," Abah Ntat said.

CADAS PANGERAN

CADAS PANGERAN Jalan Cadas Pangeran was built on the idea of Governor General Herman Willem Daendles, in 1809. In the construction of this road, General Daendles employed indigenous people, the Sumedang people. At the time of making the road, the people of Sumedang were employed as compulsory labor under Dutch command. Because this area is on the edge of a cliff with a deep ravine and steep terrain and rocky rock that is very hard not infrequently the indigenous workers experience great suffering. In fact, not a few are affected by malaria until death. And it is estimated that thousands of other people lost their lives while working on this road. Cadas Pangeran's own story comes from the suffering of the people of Sumedang in the construction of this road. At that time the sad story reached the ears of the Sumedang regency authority at that time, namely Prince Kusumadinata IX or the more popular one, Prince Kornel. When Daendels came to monitor road construction, sudde
