Foxes are small carnivores. There are 27 fox species, they are omnivorous animals and the smallest member of the family Canidae (mammals associated with dogs). They are fast and agile runners. Foxes can be found on all continents, living in forests, bushes and deserts. Most foxes eat mice, voles, rabbits, bird eggs, large insects and dead meat. In the United Kingdom, there is a general sport for fox hunting with horses and dogs.
